I was disgusted with the gig on Saturday. The band were fine although didn't seem very into it at all.

We missed Bat for Lashes due to Irish Rail putting on no extra DART's, the one we got at 6.30 took about an hour to get there from town because so many people were trying to crush on at each stop.

The screens either side of the stage broke down during the first song, meaning we could see f*ck all. We left during the encore in the hope of getting a DART - again, no extra darts were put on...in fact they took one OFF which was incredible given the volume of people visiting Malahide for this concert.

But most sickening of all was the fact the park that the concert was in, was not closed off to the public! There were loads of people standing just outside the fence, watching it for FREE when we all paid 75 euro!

I would recommend you write a letter to MCD about this if you had the same experience.

Joanne, I just finished a quick post with my review of the concert. I too was annoyed with it. You didn't miss much with the last encore! The hot dogs we bought when we got into te park were good though!

cman... everybody is entitled to their opinions... I knew what to expect, and I didn't expect to see Radiohead doing dancing numbers.

Nobody here has said anything about the quality of their musicianship, just that they didn't manage to capture the attention of everybdy there yesterday, and for me, it ruined the experience.

I have seen many gigs, bigger and smaller than the one yesterday. And despite the fact that I am a big fan, it just didn't do it for me (and clearly, I am not alone!) What I, or anybody else there for that matter, liked or disliked yesterday certainly doesn't make them a looser. Please be careful with your comments.

Wow cman, judging by your grasp of language, I think you would have been better at a Tiesto gig?

If you read my comment I didn't say the band were shit, I said they didn't seem all that into it. Thom, for instance, had a sore throat, which would explain it.

95% of what I said in my previous comment was about the poor organisation of the gig. If you aren't bothered that anyone could come watch a gig that you paid 75 quid for - for free - then you sir are a mug.

Must admit that I didn't notice any of the problems you guys have mentioned. Then again, we walked to the gig from Portmarnock...after flying in from Manchester.

I'd say that the band were very much into it. I was down on the second row, slightly off centre and enjoyed every second of it.

I've seen Thom talk to the crowd more...but I thought that they all had a good time. Except Jonny and his failing Mac, perhaps!!

I came over to Dublin because I didn't fancy the Manchester gig at Lancs Cricket ground (others there have been badly run and too big). The organisation (from what I saw), hospitality and friendliness of everyone showed how large gigs like this should be put on. Except for freeloaders I guess. That's not on.

All in all, I really enjoyed the whole thing. Not the best I've seen, but I really enjoyed it.

I agree with Joanne, it didn't seem like their hearts were in it. We didn't have any trouble getting to or from the gig (we left early!).

I appreciate the new album is pretty chilled, but that didn't need to change the energy level of the entire gig. Shame not to have a few more tracks off The Bends too. Had a nice weekend in Dublin though!
